Project Overview
RsvpDarbar is a WhatsApp-first event confirmation platform for weddings, family events, religious gatherings, and community events. It helps organizers move from scattered confirmations to a clear answer: exactly who is coming.
Problem
Large family and community events often depend on WhatsApp messages, phone calls, spreadsheets, and manual follow-ups. Without a dedicated system, organizers can lose track of confirmed guests, uncertain responses, transport needs, accommodation needs, and the final count.
Solution
RsvpDarbar gives organizers workspaces, events, guest records, secure public RSVP links, WhatsApp-ready messages, call outcomes, follow-up tasks, and exports so the guest list stays current from invitation to final planning.
Key Features
- Workspace roles for owners, admins, coordinators, and viewers
- Multiple events with guest and family records
- CSV import with validation, duplicate handling, and CSV export
- Secure guest-specific RSVP links without guest accounts
- Response tracking for confirmed, declined, maybe, and needs-contact states
- Transport, accommodation, follow-up, call outcome, and audit history tracking
Technical Decisions
The MVP is built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM, NextAuth credentials authentication, bcrypt password hashing, Tailwind CSS, project CSS tokens, Vitest tests, and Vercel-compatible deployment.
UI/UX Decisions
The workflow is designed around the way organizers already communicate: create an event, import guests, generate a personalized RSVP link or WhatsApp-ready message, log manual shares or phone-call responses, and keep follow-ups visible.
Challenges
The main challenge is supporting real event complexity while keeping the MVP focused. Automatic WhatsApp sending, payments, seating charts, vendor management, native mobile apps, and social features are intentionally deferred.
Result
Organizers can manage guest confirmations, track attendance needs, coordinate team access, and export a reliable final guest list without forcing guests to create accounts.
